The Downtown Tipp City Partnership announced that it will be extending the 2008 Tippecanoe Farmers’ Market season. The Tippecanoe Farmers’ Market, now in its second season, will continue through Saturday, October 25th.

The Farmers’ Market Committee made the announcement at this past week’s market after taking a survey with the vendors and customers over the past several weeks. Melissa Maclauchlan, the Market Manager, said the community really wanted the market to continue. “We had an overwhelming response from the community asking us to extend the Market.” She said, “We are very excited that it will continue though the end of October.”

The extended dates: September 20th, October 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th. The Farmers’ Market will not be open Mum Festival weekend (September 27th)

“Extending the Market will give vendors an opportunity to provide some harvest season products,” said Matt Owen, Executive Director of the Partnership. “Come out and enjoy the great local produce, fresh breads, flowers and homemade products.”

The Partnership is a non-profit corporation and a National Trust for Historic Preservation Organization with the mission to enhance, preserve and promote downtown Tipp City. For more information, call 937.667.8300 or visit www.tippecanoefarmersmarket.com or www.visittippcity.org.

Four Weeks Left!

There are only four weeks left in this season of the Tippecanoe Farmers’ Market, so get out there and shop! We have lots of great vendors, selling fresh produce, plants, flowers, homemade baked goods, and other handcrafted items.

The Tippecanoe Farmers’ Market is an effort to bring local and regional growers and vendors to a small, volunteer-run farmers’ market in the historic downtown shopping district of Tipp City. Located in downtown Tipp City, Ohio on Third St. between Main and Dow, the market is held every Saturday morning, 9am to 1pm. The Season began on June 14th and continues through Sept. 13th, with free admission.

The Tippecanoe Farmers’ Market was organized and is presented by the Downtown Tipp City Partnership, a local organization of business owners and residents interested in promoting Tipp City and our historic downtown area.

We’ve had several great weeks at the Tippecanoe Farmers’ Market and things are going well! We’ve also welcomed a few new vendors! Drop by and see what’s out for sale – it changes every week. This past week several of our vendors had fresh corn.
