47Ahhh, the crisp mornings of fall are upon us. For some, the Labor Day holiday marks a sad time of the end of summer – for others – it marks the joyous days of cooler weather and the colors and smells of fall. Smells you ask? You know, hot apple pie, fires in the fire pit, roasting marshmallows. Head on down to the Market this Saturday to get everything you need to start YOUR holiday weekend off right!

Special thanks to The Third Street Salon – who graciously allows us to close off the street in front of her hair salon business on Saturday mornings. If you’re in the market for a new stylist – pop in and meet the experts at the Salon!  And, as always, an extra special thanks to the generosity of Marlowe Law Office and The Mark Bamberger Co., LLC on 3rd Street with FREE coffee, juice and pastries for our Market patrons. P.S. The Farmers’ Market needs more volunteers! If you are interested in helping out during the Market, please contact Rebecca at rwoodward@gardensalive.com

We need your help!

What is a Locavore?

Eat Locally!

Welcome to Locavores:

We are a group of concerned culinary adventurers who are making an effort to eat only foods grown or harvested within a 100 mile radius of San Francisco for an entire month. We recognize that the choices we make about what foods we choose to eat are important politically, environmentally, economically, and healthfully. In 2005, we challenged people from the bay area (and all over the world) to eat within a 100 mile radius of their home for the month of August…..

In 2007 we extended that challenge to the month of September . We encouraged folks to try canning and preserving food for the wintertime. We hope you’re enjoying your homemade creations.

Tipp City farmer’s market kicks off | Tipp City Visitor’s Bureau
From the Dayton Daily News:
TIPP CITY — The Tippecanoe Farmers’ Market will kick off its third season Saturday, June 13.

Each Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the market will provide shoppers a place to purchase products from local vendors — fruits and vegetables, baked goods and freshly prepared food items, garden plants and fresh cut flowers, handmade products and more.

The market is located in the heart of downtown Tipp City on Third at Main Street.

Anyone interested in becoming a vendor or volunteering at the market should contact Matt Owen of the Tipp City Chamber of Commerce at 937 667-8300. For more information about the Tippecanoe Farmers’ Market, visit the Web at www.tippecanoefarmersmarket.com.
